My name is Sam. I'm an XR designer and creative technologist with a background in architecture and over 10 years of experience creating with many different forms of digital media. I bring hands-on knowledge leading rendering and animation teams as well and developing a variety of XR experiences in Unity, which have repeatedly led to awards and recognition in the XR community.
I've often been recognized for attention to detail, teamwork, and consistency in delivering high-quality finished products. In my free time, I love to produce music and DJ. My current focus is helping companies create new experiences that foster connections between people, technology, and products.
Awarded 2nd place overall in the Google AR Core Geospatial API Hackathon for my project, SkyLine, which shows users the future of their city through the power of AR.
Chosen as a winner of the Niantic and Loak AR-CADE Challenge Hackathon for Best Visuals with my audio-reactive AR project, Flowlab.
Led a rendering team to produce an animation that won my company a contract for a $16.5 million project.
Developing augmented and mixed-reality prototypes and building out fully functional MVPs in Unity for both mobile AR and headsets.
Authoring shaders and visual effects that transform the way we see the world and immerse users in the experiences we create.
Designing polished user interfaces and identifying and iterating on solutions to key usability issues through beta testing, user data, and research.
Led the development of graphics and renderings for two competition submissions, including the creation of an animation that secured my company a contract for a $16.5 million project in 2021.
Deeply engaged in the design and production of two projects that were each awarded an “Orchid” for design excellence in by the San Diego Architecture Foundation.
Led coordination efforts which helped a 25,000 sqft project achieve LEED Gold and Net-Zero Energy Certification.
Supported the evolution of a company-wide system to calculate carbon footprints of projects to make data-driven decisions during the design process.
Graphics presentation selected as part of a group of high quality work to be included in the company’s Year End Show.
Helped deliver a Net-Zero Energy Certified project that exceeded energy performance goals by 30%, and also received Living Building Challenge Certification (LBC).
Worked closely with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software to develop detailed 3D models and use them to create client presentations, renderings, and technical drawings.
Spearheaded the creation of physics simulations to analyze sustainability metrics such as daylighting and solar heat gain.
Produced presentation quality renderings, and led the graphics and branding for an entry into a local design competition for a sustainable and affordable housing project.
